Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor on Tibidabo hill Barcelona. The Church of the Sacred Heart, Barcelona. The Sagrat Cor church is the illuminated building at the top of Barcelona's highst hill that overlooks Barcelona from the west.
The Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor was designed by architect Enric Sagnier. It is very nice to visit and there are probably the best views of Barcelona from the church and from the viewing platforms just beneath the statue of Jesus on the church tower which crowns the church at 512 metres above sea level.
The building of the church started in 1902 but was not completed until 60 years later. The night illuminations were first lit by the Pope from Rome. Visit the Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor website for details of concerts and services.
